Your Path to Brighter Days
Kim is a graduate student working on her Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy at Colorado Christian University. Kim received her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing at the University of Texas Arlington. She worked for ten years as an Emergency Department nurse before taking a season off to focus on raising her five children, three of whom were adopted from a trauma background. She brings a wealth and variety of life experiences with her into the counseling room.
Kim is a Texas native who moved to Colorado in 2015. She loves the beauty of Colorado and taking in nature through hiking as well as traveling and seeing God’s creation in new places. She is also a lover of animals. Over the years, she has raised guinea pigs, a hedgehog, a hamster, gerbils, and even a prairie dog! Her petite goldendoodle, Waffles, though, has a special place in her heart.
Kim genuinely desires to know and understand her clients. She offers an integrative approach to counseling, which customizes care to the client's needs and goals. She has a passion for hurting marriages and understands that life and relationships can be challenging. She has gone beyond her coursework and completed Gottman Method Training Levels 1 & 2, and training in Sex Addiction, Intimacy Anorexia, and Partner Recovery/Betrayal Trauma from the American Association for Sex Addiction Therapy. Kim has always been called to help others, and in this season of her life she knows God is guiding her into the field of counseling. She wants to create a space that honors each person’s intrinsic value and nurtures growth and healing through empathy, compassion, and grace; to “bear one another’s burdens, and in this way … fulfill the law of Christ.” Galatians 6:2 (NRSV).
